Those already familiar with Karl's work will be right up to speed with his signature sounds of pulsing, grooving sax led jazz interlaced with the unique and melancholic tones of the Goat Horn.
This album shape-shifts yet again though, with Seglem calling on the hand of no less than three percussionists; punctuating the sound with the timbal colour of Africa and Pakistan yet with one foot firmly in his homeland.
The recording location, live audience and outstanding band - combined with faultless production - runs a palpable tension right through the album, and a perfect path leading to a earthy yet bitter-sweet release.
